Rock climbing often suits parties of mixed ability and fitness as you can do as little or as much as you like, so there is always something for everyone to do.

Abseiling is a method of going down a rock face using ropes. It is a very popular activity, and great for groups, parties, and families. It can be a challenging experience, but one that will make you feel elated when you complete it.

gorge waLKING

Gorge walking is the ultimate in outdoor thrills. You will be scrambling down rivers, climbing up waterfalls and abseiling into lichen covered chasms. Your challenge will be to stay dry for as long as possible as you walk your way through the gorge. When you do get wet the fun really starts with water slides, natural obstacle courses and plunge pools. Powys and Monmouthshire both have beautiful gorges that you can enjoy just a short drive from your accommodation, and once you have got the taste for gorge walking there are more gorges to be explored – head to our Gorge Walking Wales site for information on further Gorge walking experiences.

Gorge walking is a fantastic team building activity. Groups are encouraged to work together to ensure that all members of the party feel supported and included within the team. Very often, normally quiet or shy individuals will display unknown talents and skills, and this can dramatically improve their standing within the group and improve their confidence and self-esteem. Gorge walking is an activity not to be missed if you want full on fun and adventure. You will be in totally safe hands with very experienced and caring instructors. Highly recommended. Gorge walking takes place in various South Wales locations.

Our ultimate aim is to give you and your party the most fun, the most excitement and the best adventure that you have ever had. And don’t feel intimidated by the photos, we always start every gorge walking session gently and teach you all the skills and techniques that you need along the way. By the time you get to any tougher parts you will be more than ready for them and if you feel that you don’t want to do a certain challenge then you can always miss that bit out and rejoin the group on the other side.

caving

The Brecon Beacons are a fantastic place to go caving. Anywhere there is Limestone rock there is the possibility of finding caves, and the Brecon Beacons have loads of limestone just full of caves. Even less mountainous regions such as Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Somerset, and the Forest of Dean have brilliant caves just waiting to be explored.

If you have never tried caving, you must give it a go. There is the initial thrill of fear of the unknown but once below ground there is an element of stillness and tranquillity that cannot be experienced anywhere else. In the Brecon Beacons you can go caving in cave systems both wet and dry that have huge caverns and features that that will surprise and amaze.

This is a fantastic group bonding activity and is particularly popular with groups of friends, stag parties and hen parties. It is also very good for management training with people who need to experience teamwork and group dynamics. Caving is completely different from most people’s expectations, and we find that if you try it, you will really enjoy it.

The leader will change regularly to allow everyone to experience the excitement of finding the way through the cave system. While you are traveling through the caves you will have the opportunity to try some more tricky challenges which are often given names by the cavers such as The Keyhole or The Ironing Board.

RAFT BUILDING

Raft building on a lake in a forest, can you imagine a better team building outdoor activity? Your Team is given the bare basics of ropes, poles, and plastic barrels and then they must design and build their own raft. They then must work together to launch their raft without it falling apart and then paddle it around a course. It’s enormous fun for all ages but co-operation and communication are essential if you are not going to be left with a pile of floating sticks and barrels.

Corporate clients can include raft building as one of the activities in a race day where planning, timing and execution are critical if the task is to be successfully completed. Groups get very rapid feedback on how well they are working as a team when the knots start coming undone and things look decidedly wet.

Raft building is suitable for all ages, and we can travel to areas in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and the Wye Valley if you don’t want to travel so far. For those who can travel we can offer you raft building on a beautiful lake in the Forest of Dean with a purpose-built construction area and launch site. So, if you want a fantastic fun filled day with teams designing, building and finally racing their rafts then you really should give raft building a try.

Our Raft Building sessions can also be tailored to suit any group, so whether you are searching for some team building activities for your company, something exciting for a group of friends to do, an activity that all the family could engage in, or just want something to suit a Hen or Stag Party, then we can provide a raft building session just for you. We can also incorporate other challenges within the raft building session if you want to include leadership and planning as a part of your team building programme.

Walking is a great and affordable way to access the outdoors.  It is also an easy way to escape the fast pace of everyday life and have some you time.

All you need is skills and confidence to do it. Have you driven through the stunning vistas of the countryside and seen people walking the hills and mountains and wished you could do the same?

Or have you done some waymarked or accessible walking and want to know more?  Would you like to scale the highest mount in South Wales (Pen y Fan 886m) or complete every summit on the Malvern hills?

Walking also doesn’t have to be all about the challenge. It can also be about resetting and enjoying the peace of the forest or finding a passion for plants and animals.

Our experienced guides are very knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife, and you are almost certain to see something of interest, a Buzzard or possibly even the majestic Red Kite, the largest bird of prey in Wales.
